DST UPDATE: Don't forget, Daylight Savings Time starts March 14. Please don't show up an hour late for Sunday's race.
"Be nice." That's what Dr. James Dalton taught us all. And lo, it was a nice day:
Until it was time to stop being nice. Then it rained! Then, you know, the crashes.
Garneau Evolution (the militant wing of Escape Velocity) put Jesse Reams on top of the box, a trick he managed with a Cancellara-grade solo with 1 km to go.
Props to Rocky Mountain's Kevin Calhoun, who took home second place, but not the associated prize money. That's because, as is his habit, he donated it back to EV. Thanks! We promise to spend it on nicer traffic cones.
The B group was a feisty bunch, even passing the A group for a while, but staying together to the end. When the dust settled, Coastal's Scott James took the win. Jean Ann McKirdy was top woman on the day, with a 3rd place in the B's.
The C group was, um, yeah, it finished in a bunch kick. Mighty Riders' Andrew Latreille unloaded a sprint in slow motion to outlast a closely-matched pack.
After the C's wrapped up, an impressively-large Novice pack took off, And Cornel Dobrin copped top honours. The U17 race went at the same time, and was won by Lord Villamonte.
The complete-ish results are now available. You can send corrections and complaints to the web nerd, but he just deletes the complaints.
Alex Pope has some pics for you, too.
