On April 13, our XC coaches Amanda Sin, Jake Rodgers and Andrew Pinfold shifted their regular practice time to provide a free clinic to the riders in the Sea-to-Sky corridor high-school mountain bike league. Approximately 100 riders attended the race hosted on the Richard Juryn trail in the Seymour demonstration forest. Cannondale pb Fortius rider Quinn Storey took first place in the Grade 9 division and DEVO pb Fortius riders Nathan Bishop and Cody Scott took 2nd and 3rd respectively in the two lap race.

After the race was over, Quinn, Nathan, and Cody exchanged their school jerseys for team kit and helped host over 15 racers from schools in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, and Squamish. The clinic lasted 1.5 hours and was “a great opportunity to introduce racing beyond the high school series to these young athletes. Everyone had fun and that’s the main goal." according to coach Sin. The next joint N. Shore High-school mountain bike and DEVO/Cannondale pb Fortius clinic will occur on May 11, in the Seymour demonstration forest at 5PM.

The DEVO pb Fortius (ages 10-14) and Cannondale pb Fortius (ages 15-18) provide road, cross-country, track and cyclocross training year round to aspiring racers/cyclists. For more information on programs, upcoming summer camps, please visit:
