Cannondale pb Fortius athlete Cody Scott posted fantastic results in the month of July, tallying two impressive finishes at the Marathon BC Championships, July 8th 2018 and the National XCO MTB Championships, July 21st 2018.

Cody’s U19 1st place finish came at the Marathon BC Championships. Evenly matched with another rider for almost 2 hours into the race, Cody dug deep and created a gap that held into the final hour of the race, giving him his first provincial win in a few years.

“The most important lesson I learned was to be patient and trust your legs far into a long race” said Cody.

He followed up the impressive achievement with a U17 4th place finish at the National XCO MTB Championships. Putting memories of a difficult 2017 campaign behind him, Cody started well and stayed upright, holding his position up the first climb while avoiding the “adrenaline dump” of previous races.

“After my really good start at Nationals, I now know that if I stay nice and calm on the start I can keep my speed and hold my position up the first climb” said Cody. “It was a highlight to be able to travel and stay with the BC XCO team and race in the BC Provincial team kit.”
